Allan Francis Ziegler of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, October 7, 1929 in Kimmswick, Missouri a son of the late, Elizabeth (Fowler) Ziegler and Ambrose Zielger. Allan departed this life on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-two years and twenty days.
Allan was united in marriage to Florence Rose Miller on February 25, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas after her passing on June 26, 1994 Allan then married Dorothy Ziegler.
Allan is survived by wife, Dorothy Ziegler of Potosi, Missouri; three sons, Billy Ziegler and wife, Sharon of St. Louis, Missouri, Allan Ziegler II and wife, Sarah of Orland Hill, Illinois, Wayne Ziegler and wife, Candy of Potosi, Missouri; nine daughters, Gail Sutton and husband, Randy of Imperial, Missouri, Cookie Rokita of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Sandy Kolter and husband, Tim of Arnold, Missouri, Lorraine Esones and husband, Tom of Chicago, Illinois, Susie Kraus and husband, Roger of Eureka, Missouri, Donna Kosmos and husband, Danny of Orland Hills, Illinois, Lulu Kovach and husband, Dave of Mokena, Illinois, Patty Robart and husband, Eddie of Cadet, Missouri, Debbie Hilgert of Grant Park, Illinois; also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and first wife, Florence Allan was preceded in death by two daughters, Sally Ann Ziegler, Barbara Ann Ziegler, one sister, Betty Ziegler, three brothers, Ambrose Ziegler, Jr., Elmer Ziegler and Myron Ziegler.
Allan was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; he always enjoyed watching them play. He also enjoyed working in his garden and making beautiful pieces of woodwork. Allan loved to go fishing, watch television and satisfying his sweet tooth some delicious candies. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Carl Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Sherman Johnson, Tom Overfelt, Jamie Govro, Dan Kosmos, Dave Kovach and David Ross.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Horine Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
